Endowment Funds

Boys and Girls Club Fund

This fund was created for the use of the Boys and Girls Club in St. Marys. The interest is to be used to do the work of the Club. It can be used in any way the club would want it to be used for the good of the children involved.

Clarence and Elsie Maxwell Fund
Mr. & Mrs. Maxwell's daughters, Barbara and Becky, created this fund, for the Ministerial Alliance of Pleasants County. The fund will be administered by the Pleasants Community Foundation for the use of the Alliance. The interest from the funds can be use for the good of the Alliance

Cohen Community Fund
This fund was created by the Cohen Family for the administration of the Pleasants Community Foundation. It can be used to fund all of the functions of the Foundation.

David Pitts Endowment for St. Marys High School
This fund was created by David Pitts to help students that are needy. This is administered by the administration of the high school.

Doug & Edie Taylor Emergency Service Fund
This fund is for training and other needs of local emergency agencies, such as the fire departments and ambulance squads.

Habitat for Humanity Fund
The Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity created this fund in memory of Carlton Buttrey. This fund may be used at the will and pleasure of the board of directors of Habitat and the board of directors of the Pleasants Community Foundation.

Heart of Pleasants Fund
This fund is one that can be used for the good of the community. It can be used at the will and pleasure of the Pleasants Community Foundation Board of Directors. All monies must be given to a 501 C 3 group.

Humane Society Fund
The Humane Society group in Pleasants County started this fund for their use as they see fit. They may use this fund for any reason their board may deem necessary.

Major Medical Fund
This fund was created by the "Onion Gang" to fund medical and emergency needs of people in the Pleasants County area.

Pleasants County Public Library
This is a building fund for the Pleasants County Public Library in the future. It is to be used when the funding from other sources are no longer available.

People Helping People
This fund was created by a group of citizens to help people who have needs. This fund can be used for all kinds of needs. A group of five person committee take in applications and do a screening before awards are made.

Sister Memorial K-9 Fund
This fund was created by Lynn and Judy Phair for helping those who might need a service dog for some purpose as seeing eye dog or other kinds of dogs that could be used by handicapped people.

St. Marys High School Alumni Fund
This fund was created by the officers of the St. Marys High School Alumni for their activites during the alumni weekend.

St. Marys Community Band Fund
This fund was created by Wesly and Rose Anne Riggs for the St. Marys Community Band. This is to purchase music and other items the Community Band may need.

St. Marys High School Foundation
This fund was created by Col. and Mrs. Tom Young for St. Marys High School, to be used for items necessary to help the school in ways that an advisory board would see fit.

 Perpetual Care Funds

Beech Run Cemetery Fund
This fund is for the perpetual care of the two Beech Run Cemeteries near Wasp, close to Arvilla in northeastern Pleasants County. The Founders of this Fund have a group set up to administer the care of these cemeteries.

IOOF Cemetery Fund
This fund was created to combine the two cemeteries in downtown St. Marys and have them under a group of advisors. These advisors are organized to handle the perpetual care of these two cemeteries.

Maple Lane Cemetery Fund
This fund was created by a board created by the Masonic Lodge #41 in St. Marys to make it a perpetual care cemetery. This group has elected officers and has a caretaker to do the work required.

Pleasants Memorial Estates Fun
This is a fund for the perpetual care of the Pleasants Memorial Estate Cemetery in Eureka, WV. This is a privately held cemetery that has joined the Foundation to care for their cemetery.

Pt. Lookout Cemetery Fund
This is a fund that was created by a group of people who were taking care of the cemetery at Point Lookout, WV. This group has elected officers and has a caretaker to do the work required.

Zoar Cemetery Fund
This fund was created by the Trustees of the Zoar Cemetery. It is located near the Zoar Baptist Church, Zoar, WV. The trustees are functioning as a group to care for the cemetery. The caretaker is one of the trustees at the moment. This group has a succession plan in place.
